G. Keith Alexander is an actor, voiceover artist, and accomplished radio disc jockey. He’s been in movies, on TV, and on your radio since the 1970s.
As the former host of What’s Hot! New York, the music and entertainment segment of Fox 5 New York’s “The McCreary Report”, G. Keith Alexander interviewed nearly 200 of today’s R&B and Hip-Hop artists and introduced his audiences to their hot debut releases, giving many their first exposure on TV. It is no question that G. Keith knows talent, in part because he is such a great talent himself. Keith is also the host of “What’s Hot! HarlemAmerica” with G. FMM: You are a NY Radio Legend. How has the nature of radio evolved?
Well, Jules, the nature of radio has evolved to where people can now listen to it on their devices. Radio shows are now global. Our HarlemAmerica Digital Network radio podcast sare available live and for download on all popular podcast platforms.
FMM: Tell us about What’s Hot HarlemAmerica.
HarlemAmerica Digital Network is a digital media platform consisting of a radio podcast channel, on-demand, and live-streaming TV channels. FMM: You have interviewed celebrities you have interviewed influential black voices in the entertainment industry like Gloria Gaynor, Keith David, Dionne Warwick, Darrin Henson, Phylicia Rashad, and more. Have you learned anything from them?
What I’ve learned interviewing influential people is that many of them start out with a vision of what they want to be or do. And, through a determination to succeed, perfecting skills and help from others, they remember the importance of staying connected to the community.
FMM: You have interviewed nearly 200 of today’s R&B and Hip-Hop artists and introduced your audiences to their hot debut releases, giving many their first exposure on TV. Can you share a few of favorite interviews?
Amongst my favorite are Barry White, Mariah Carey, Spike Lee, to name a few.
FMM: What do you enjoy the most about the entertainment business?
I’ve never been asked this question before. I’d have to admit that I like the energy, creativity, action, and the fame, fortune and followers. Entertainment for the most part makes people happy.
FMM: Why is radio an important element to culture?
Radio helped to bring culture into the United States with news, entertainment and education. It’s programming and content reached millions across the country at the same time. Entertainers became stars. HarlemAmerica Digital Network has radio podcasts and live and on-demand TV shows on all major platforms, devices and apps. We’re the Total Black Experience in Entertainment, Empowerment and Health & Wellness. FMM: As a man of many talents, can you share your upcoming projects for 2022?
As the eCEO of HarlemAmerica Digital Network, my goal for 2022 is to add more black-owned business podcast shows to our HarlemAmerica Radio Channel’s lineup, acquire more content for the HarlemAmerica Live and On-Demand TV Channels. We recently launched “The Foxworth Theory with Eugenia Foxworth” and the “Will Roundtree Show” soon.
