Kevin Craig West stars in the feature film, THE WAY FORWARD, which won Best Feature Film at the 2021 World Independent Cinema Awards in London. He just completed work in Adam McKay’s new feature, DON’T LOOK UP. He is currently filming an episode of NBC’s hit TV show, NEW AMSTERDAM.
FMM: When did your passion for acting begin?
Ironically it started with a one-performance skit titled ROADS TO LIFE performed at a community theater. I realized that being on stage was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I asked the usher to point me to the person that could make it happen for me and soon after I was an actor intern there.
FMM: How has the pandemic changed your perspective on the film industry?
I have become more aware of the industry’s resilience and am quite impressed with the measures taken by the industry to ensure safety of health while filming.
You recently completed work in Adam McKay’s new feature, DON’T LOOK UP. Tell us about your role.
At this point all I can mention of Don’t Look Up is that it was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE working under the comedic genius of Adam McKay. I am told that I was seen in a play and that led to the audition which led to the offer which led to the wonderful experience.
FMM: What roles have challenged you?
I love roles that make me question my core beliefs. They are the most fun and usually the most challenging.
FMM: Tell us about working on NBC’s hit TV show, NEW AMSTERDAM.
Another GREAT experience! Wonderful smart direction with excellent writing and a perfect cast, who could ask for anything more?!
FMM: What is next for you?
Prepping to do a horror film in the south and hoping to gain production opportunities on the series I created titled THE REPARATORS.
