Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois Brandon Momon is a Fashion Stylist and Image Consultant specializing in Business Meetings, the Governor’s Ball, Weddings, Red Carpet Dressings, Photo Shoots and everyday styling needs. For over a decade Brandon has been committed to his passion for fashion. Starting his career in high-end retail by styling clients at Bloomingdales and Nordstroms, he was quickly raised to the Lead Stylist overseeing all designer departments. He is the founder of Style Me Brandon.
FMM: Tell us about Style Me Brandon.
After many successful years in the Retail Industry, I decided to start my own business, Style Me Brandon. Since starting my business, I have dressed for B.E.T Red Carpet, The Stellar Awards and Windy City Live just to name a few. I work closely with Politicians, Pastors, music artists, reality TV stars and many more. My goal is to create fashion sense based on the personality and lifestyle of my client.
FMM: What are some of the services you provide?
I provide are Wardrobe Styling, Image Consulting, Editorial Styling, Photo Shoots, Makeovers, Personal Shopping, Closet Organization and just your Everyday Styling needs to keep my motto flowing “Your Appearance Means Everything!”
FMM: You have dressed high-profile clients for B.E.T. Red Carpet and The Stellar Awards and Windy City Live to name a few. Tell us about your memorable clients.
Wow! Where do I start? I have so many memorable moments with all my clients because in my mind I believe all my clients are high-profile clients. I treat all clients equal! But being on major platforms and red carpets everything must be perfect. With that been said I had to style a client for red carpet for the B.E.T Awards. The client had lived in LA already and I was hired to come there to stay her. Upon arriving my luggage was lost with the looks I had pulled in Chicago and was traveling with. I arrived the morning of the show. I literally sat in the airport for 2 hours trying to figure out why my luggage didn’t make that plane and when was it arriving. Sadly the customer representative let me know that my luggage wouldn’t arrive until after showtime. at that point I had to come up with Plan B, of course I couldn’t let my client know that and have her stressed because I was hired to make sure wardrobe and appearance was on point for this being the client first time on the red carpet. I hopped in a cab from the airport and went to the mall with 1 hour to shop. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off! Talking about stressed! STRESSED! Every store I went in didn’t have sizes of things I liked it was the worst. Finally, I walk into Bloomingdales dresses department and there was this gown screaming my name and my clients! Get over to it and it was a size 12, my client was a size 8 at the time. I was more stressed. I asked the sell associate was there a tailor near by that did same-day service…of course she had no clue. I happen to scroll Facebook because when I am stress that usually what I do and I noticed that one of my designer buddy was in town working also and I knew if he was in town he had his sewing machine!!! I FaceTime him lucky he answered right away. I said I need a miracle and I need a miracle right now. He said Wasup I replied my luggage didn’t make it with my clients looks in it and it’s her first time on the red carpet and I just found an amazing gown but I need to be tailored. My buddy said come to my hotel and do you have her correct measurements. I replied of course what hotel you in, look how God works we all was in the same hotel! I was like perfect let me find accessories and shoes and I am on my way. While look for shoes my client FaceTime me like I am headed to hair and make up how we looking for her outfit. I replied TRUST GOD I will see you shortly, she replied okay Brandon I am trusting you today.. hang up! Find shoes. Get Uber to hotel, go to buddy room for alterations. Of course he nailed the tailoring and my client dress fitted like a glove! Everything turned out GREAT. Even tho it started off very bad but it ended with my client smiling so hard and happy and pleased. And as of today the client still doesn’t know what actually took place. LIFE OF A STYLIST!
FMM: What will people notice when working with you?
When working with Brandon you get someone that is very professional but outspoken and real at the same time. My clients love working with me because I don’t sugar code anything when it comes to appearance. It’s amazes me when new clients book with me they say “I want the REAL BRANDON EXPERIENCE” I usually laugh because that mean someone has shared a great review considering my services and personality.
FMM: Are you looking forward to the holidays? What events are coming up?
Fall/ winter is my favorite season because I am big on layers. I am totally looking forward to the family holidays photoshoots and holiday events. I have a ton of shoots booked as of now and events that I have to attend myself and style for.
