Partnering with Producer Monica Floyd of True Vision Media Group, who trusted and allowed Allen to tell his story for “Lola 2” with “no restrictions,” Allen states both he and his business partner “are happy that we found an incredible home at ALLBLK.” He continues, “Thank you so much, Brett Dismuke and the entire ALLBLK team.”
FMM: What has set the stage for your success?
Forgoing the traditional film school route, I began educating myself on all creative, technical, and business aspects of the process and never looked back. I transformed myself into a successful writer, director, filmmaker and producer. I sold my first screenplay, No Where Land, an animated feature film in 2008. As an award-winning director, I gone on to be involved in a variety of film and music video projects.
FMM: What is important to you as a filmmaker?
Telling stories that can change a turn a person life around for the better.
FMM: Tell us about your full-length feature film and the release from ALLBLK.
I’m excited to release the second installment of my female boxing franchise LOLA 2 on the incredible ALLBLK Network on April 01, 2023.
FMM: Your all-star cast brings together acting legends and greats, in addition to high-profile figures in sports-and-pop culture, such as Taja V. Simpson (Tyler Perry’s The Oval), Elise Neal (Hustle & Flow, Money Talks), Tamala Jones (What Men Want, Blue Streak), Torrei Hart (On Ten, Turnt) Jackie Long (ATL, Games People Play) to name a few. What have you enjoyed the most working with such a talented cast?
It was incredible feeling to work with so much talent. My leading actress that plays Lola (Taja V. Simpsons) she really put in a lot of work for this role. I am really proud of her. She is a director’s dream to work with, such a professional and an incredible actress.
FMM: How excited are you for your premieres?
I’m super excited. The premiere dates are coming soon.
FMM: What is your hope that audiences will take away from your film?
I hope they take away that no one is promised tomorrow. So, you should go after your dreams in life.
